Our "home" in Taipei

I thought I might talk a little bit about the place where we are staying in Taipei.  This area is an older section of Taipei where the University Medical Center Hospital is located.  The “hotel” that we are staying in is not really a hotel, but more of a hostel type housing where medical students and visiting professors stay.  We are on the 4^th floor (which is about 150 steps up according to our pedometers that we are wearing everyday).  Dad’s room is at the end of the hallway and mine and mom’s is right next door.  You might find it a bit strange that mom and I are staying in one room and dad in the other, but it is not that strange if you know my dad and know how he snores.  It is so loud that is reverberates right through your body and you cannot sleep.  Luckily we don’t hear him next door snoring!  The other reason mom is not sleeping in his room is because our room is MUCH warmer than his and there is no heat here.  There are some lovely medical students on our hall- from Singapore, Thailand, America and from all other parts of the world.  Most people speak English and seem very bright.
