A spontaneous adventure begins. If you had asked me three days ago what I was doing next week, I would have replied, working and taking a fun day trip to Block Island. A few days ago, a friend texted me and said he was going to Mexico for a week in between ending one job and starting another and jokingly said, "want to come?!" I'm not sure he expected me to say yes, but I know he is super excited that I did. I've been trying to figure out something to do this summer as most of my plans fell through and this seemed like the perfect adventure to replace them. He booked everything through a travel agent and I don't usually do that but for this trip, I needed to use his agent to get everything set up. It took a day and on Friday when he left to fly, all my flights were set to go to leave on Sunday and meet him down there.
I am going to Mexico! And specifically the Mayan Riveria, for a relaxing and exploring vacation.
Because things were so last minute, of course the only seats I could get on my delta flights (I had to be very specific to fly delta as I'm so close to getting all the miles I need!!) were middle seats. That didn't even seem to put a damper on things as I was just so excited to get down there. However, when I got to LGA to check-in, this absolutely terrific agent took my duffel and when I asked about changing my seats, he said that ironically he was also the gate agent for my flight so he could get me a better seat once we got to the gate.
To make a long story short, he was able to upgrade me to economy comfort and to some nice aisle seats for both of my flights! He also gave me his information so he could look into my future flights. Sweet!
I flew into Minneapolis and had a tight connection but luckily and strangely, the same plane that I flew in on was the same plane going to Cancun, so that was very cool. Unfortunately it was an old Airbus plane, but still nice! I'm currently on that flight and cannot wait to arrive. I've been tortured by nice photos and private jacuzzi photos from Sean so I'm ready!
